Devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria claimed the lives of more than 15,000 people. Hopes to find the living under the rubble are fading every hour.
However, rescuers continue their furious attempts to save as many people as possible, who may still be stay alive almost 72 hours after the tragedy.
Turkey Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), as transmits CNN Turk reported 12,873 deaths. More than 60 thousand people are injured. At least 2,992 people have died in Syria.
The number of victims is expected earthquakes Monday’s magnitude 7.8 rises sharply as the 72-hour mark approaches, which emergency experts say is the most likely time to save lives.
