The innovation of the Greek healthcare system called “Personal Doctor” (Προσωπικός γιατρός) found an adequate response from citizens.
The appointment of citizens to the “personal doctor”, which was previously carried out through the GOV.GR website, in hospitals or with a personal doctor, can now also be done in pharmacies, according to the announcement of the Ministry of Health.
To date, the number registered in the “Personal Doctor” system has exceeded 4,000,000 and is expected to reach the targets by the end of the year.
Minister of Health Thanos Plevris has already signed a decision to include doctors of all specialties in the system. And, as provided by the healthcare reform, contracts with which will be signed in the coming days, even more doctors will be added to the register.
Given the active participation of citizens, suspension of “punishment” (penalties) for thosewho will not be registered with a personal doctor until 01.12.22.
Some time will be given in order for the citizen to be able to make an appointment with a specific specialist, who will soon join the system and enter the official register.
Therefore, in areas where most personal doctors have already reached the maximum number of their potential patients (for example, in Attica), citizens can wait for the signing of new contracts with doctors and then join the system.
The introduction of the “Personal Doctor” legal provision is a free provision of medical services for all citizens who for the first time will receive an “adviser” on health issues, health education, prevention, diagnosis, as well as receive appropriate competent referrals and recommendations in case of detection of any serious disease.

3) in a pharmacy at the place of residence, with the AMCA and, for ease of demonstration, an identity document or a photocopy thereof.
