Charles III became the new king of Britain – this name was taken by Charles

Liz Truss, the newly elected Prime Minister of Great Britain, during an address to the nation in connection with the death of Queen Elizabeth II announced that the new king took the name of Charles III (Charles III).

European Pravda quotes the statement of the British Prime Minister:

“Queen Elizabeth left behind a magnificent legacy. Today, as more than a thousand years before, the crown passes to our new monarch, the new head of state – His Majesty King Charles III.”

The throne names of British kings, in accordance with established practice, are written in the biblical tradition. So, kings with the name James (James) have the throne name Jacob, and Charles (Charles), respectively, becomes Charles.

Liz Truss called the death of the queen “a huge shock to the nation and the world”, comparing Elizabeth II to “the stone on which modern Britain was built” and calling her “the spirit of Great Britain”.

“God Save the King,” the British Prime Minister ended her address, referring to the title of the United Kingdom’s anthem, which during the reign of Elizabeth II was called “God Save the Queen.”

Charles became the oldest monarch in British history to ever ascend to the throne. His wife, 74-year-old Camilla, will receive the title of queen consort. This means that she has equal social status with him and the feminine equivalent of his monarchical title.

As our publication and the world media reported, yesterday at the age of 96 in the Scottish castle of Balmoral queen passed away Great Britain Elizabeth II.

Although Charles is actually becoming king, he must be formally proclaimed as such in a separate ceremony to be held later. Its exact time has not yet been announced. In his first statement as king, Charles called his mother’s death “a moment of greatest sadness for himself and all members of the family.”

Recently, the media has been reporting on health issues that have made it difficult for Queen Elizabeth to move around. Because of this, she did not attend some events.

In Great Britain and in all countries of the Commonwealth of Nations, a ten-day mourning began in connection with the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
