Summer allowance will be issued in the fall

The allowance, which was promised to poor citizens in the summer, the government decided to issue in the fall. Presumably its size will be increased.

A specific measure of state assistance to needy citizens will be announced at ΔΕΘ, the government’s report conference, which will be held in September this year. However, it doesn’t look like she will be the only one to be announced.

As for the so-called summer allowance, it will be similar to that given for Easter and Christmas (about 200 euros). This year, presumably, the amount will be 230 euros for each beneficiary.

However, the government is thinking about “a more correct (fair) distribution of money.” The payment scale will start from 100-130 euros, and the final amount of the benefit will reach 230 euros.

The goal is to initially support vulnerable citizens and those most affected by the inflationary tsunami with 230 euros. And in the second stage, financial assistance, which can be less than 200 euros, but is provided to a larger number of households using income criteria.

The lump-sum allowance (in accordance with the previous data) was received by:

  • 676,735 low-income pensioners
  • 166,982 people with disabilities
  • 34,964 uninsured seniors
  • 625,000 families with children
  • 241,281 guaranteed income recipients (EEE-KEA).

200 euros were credited to the accounts of the first three categories, and additional amounts were paid to the last two.
