Social dividend payment today

The social dividend will be paid to recipients in December, while the first recipients (the minimum guaranteed income EEE, former KEA) will see the money in their accounts on December 15 (at ATMs from the afternoon of Tuesday 14.12).

Later this month, social dividends will be paid in the form of an allowance of € 250 to other recipients, such as low-income pensioners, uninsured elderly and disabled people who receive benefits from OPECA.

The amounts will be credited to the recipients’ accounts automatically, without an IBAN declaration, while the dividend is not taxed and is not withheld for debts (including in favor of third parties).

Recall, as our publication previously wrote, the double amount will be received by the beneficiaries of EEE (KEA), vulnerable households. Financial assistance of up to 900 euros will be distributed among more than 280,000 households.

As stated in the Department of Labor amendment, on December 15, the first amount of the “social dividend” will be paid in the form of a double benefit to recipients of the minimum guaranteed income (EEE).

Recall that the minimum guaranteed income paid by OPEC on the last business day of the month is a social security program for approximately 273,000 vulnerable households (482,335 vulnerable citizens).

Vulnerable households:

1. Family with one person

Any adult who lives alone in a dwelling and does not fall under the age of 25 attending university colleges or schools, vocational schools or educational institutions at home or abroad.

2. A household consisting of several people (all people living under one roof), that is:

Guest or host family, provided this was declared on the last tax return checked.
Persons under the age of 25 attending university colleges or schools, vocational schools or educational institutions, regardless of their place of residence.

3. Homeless

The beneficiaries of the program can be people living on the street or in dilapidated inappropriate housing, provided that they are registered with the social services of municipalities or community centers, or use hostels operating in the municipalities. The recognition of homelessness cannot be confirmed only by the form of the income tax return.

The maximum amount of the social dividend is set at 900 euros per month, regardless of the composition of the family. Thus, the one who receives 200 euros today will receive 400 euros, and the one who receives 900 euros a month will receive double the amount, that is, 1800 euros.
