Speaking on SKAI, Johns Hopkins University’s Greek pulmonology professor Panagiotis Galiazatos expressed confidence that the pandemic will end in 6-8 months.
“We have the vaccine, treatment, Merck and Pfizer drugs, so I think the pandemic will pass in 6-8 months,” he said, but assuming the coronavirus would “linger” in some parts of the world.
The professor stressed that vaccination is of the utmost importance and, when combined with other protective measures, will be the key to ending the pandemic: “We need to get vaccinated so that our body is ‘ready to fight back the virus.’ So gradually, including wearing masks, the pandemic will come to naught. “
“I see patients who want to live … The man will win because we have the answer to the coronavirus,” is the professor’s optimistic view of reality.
Regarding the intensification of vaccinations, he noted that doctors must win the trust of the people so that citizens can become more conscious of the calls of the authorities.
