The robbers enriched themselves by 120,000 euros

Law enforcement agencies in Greece have discovered a large criminal organization, whose members “ransacked” houses from Epirus to Crete. Their production amounted to more than 120,000 euros.

Thieves, under the pretext of sometimes begging, and sometimes the sale of small things, identified empty apartments, entered them and took out everything cleanly.

The extraction of the perpetrators, according to EL.AS, included money and valuables worth more than 120,000 euros. The criminal group consisted of eight Greeks (Roma), including a 27-year-old and a 17-year-old, as well as six women (from 23 to 30 years old).

From May to August of this year, acting in a different composition each time, the criminal group committed 18 thefts and five attempts. The biggest thefts were carried out by thieves in Katerini, Ioannina, Crete (Heraklion, Rethymno, Agios Nikolaos) and Thessaloniki.

According to the investigation, in the course of their criminal activities, the criminals illegally enriched themselves in the amount of 20,030 euros, and the total value of the stolen jewelry was 103,240 euros, according to the victims.

One of the underage defendants was detained by the Heraklion police last September. The case against the arrested criminals was transferred to the Katerini Prosecutor’s Office.
