An 88-year-old woman, a resident of Arnae (Halkidiki), was deceived by fraudsters who introduced themselves as government officials.
The criminals, a man and a woman, managed to get an amount of 1,750 euros under the pretext of conducting a “planned check” to combat the spread of the coronavirus.
The “inspectors” asked the old woman to let them check the bills that she had in her house, under the pretext that they were allegedly told about possible the dangers of contracting a deadly virus through banknotes…
The elderly lady, suspecting nothing, presented them “for control” with all the bills she had. As soon as the prey was in the hands of the “inspectors”, they immediately retreated.
An elderly woman called the police. Hot on the trail, the identities of the alleged criminals were identified. This is a 51-year-old woman and her accomplice. A case has been initiated against them. The criminal’s accomplice is on the wanted list.
