The Greek Fire Service and the Citizens’ Ministry of Defense issued a warning on Friday 9 July about wildfires due to high temperatures and strong winds.
According to the warning, the following regions are at very high risk (level 4):
Attica Central Greece, (Viotia, Evia, Fiotida) Peloponnese: (Corinth, Argolis, Laconia Northern Aegean: Lesvos, Chios, Samos, Ikaria Southern Aegean: Cyclades Crete
Level 4 areas are marked in orange and high risk areas (level 3) are marked in yellow. Usually, when the danger level is orange, the authorities close the entrance to forests or forest park areas.

Civil protection calls for all protective measures to be taken, to avoid fires in the open air and work that can cause sparks, if a fire is detected, call the fire department <199>.
