The season on the beautiful island of winds of Mykonos is almost open. Moving outside the prefecture and opening up tourism brought the first visitors to the Cyclades this summer.
Most of them, however, are seasonal workers who have taken the sweat of their brow to ennoble the island, which is a key pillar of Greek tourism.
In the morning, the city of Mykonos resembles a construction site, as businessmen intensively prepare their shops to receive guests. Everywhere it smells of paint, whitewash, everywhere you can see workers scurrying about with brushes and tools.
However, by the evening, the picture changes dramatically. In several nightlife establishments that have already opened in Matoyanni, one could see the first visitors and residents who decided to have a good evening. Although music is not yet allowed to be played, customers sipped cocktails and soft drinks from tall glasses until midnight. As you know, the opening hours of the establishments have been extended until 00:30.
The number of flights that brought the first tourists to the island is still isolated. The first cruise ships are expected to dock in Mykonos in the last days of May, marking a general opening of tourism.
