On Saturday, February 17, a woman called the ANT1 TV channel and reported that in 45 minutes an explosive device would go off in the parliament building (approximately at 19:15).
The area around the central Syntagma Square was immediately cordoned off by law enforcement officers, writes publication newsbeast.gr. Vasilissis Sophias and Amalia Avenues around the Parliament building were blocked, and metro trains, for safety reasons, passed Syntagma station without stopping.
An explosive ordnance disposal team arrived at the Greek parliament, but an inspection revealed that there were no suspicious items. The roads opened to traffic shortly after 7:30 p.m.
