A 32-year-old policeman was stabbed in a bar in Thessaloniki when he tried to calm down an argument. A 44-year-old Norwegian man was detained.
The tragic incident occurred today, early Thursday morning, in a bar on Katsimidis Street, located next to the MAT establishment. It all started due to the Norwegian’s fault: first there was a verbal altercation between him and the policeman’s best man who was there, then a fight broke out. When the policeman tried to intervene and separate them, the Norwegian pulled out a knife and fatally wounded him.
The policeman’s best man was also injured in the fight and was taken by ambulance to the Hippocrates Hospital. The Norwegian was arrested and is in custody, writes CNN Greece.
