Parking and stopping bans, limited traffic and special traffic regulations are being introduced on Thursday 14 December in some southern areas of Attica due to a controlled explosion.
The controlled explosion planned for today to neutralize old-style ammunition will lead to the introduction of the following temporary measures on Poseidon Avenue, on sections of roads in the area of the municipalities of Alimos, Glyfada and Elliniko-Argyroupoli:
Gradual complete stop of vehicle traffic from 11.00 to 13.00:
- Poseidonos Avenue (Λ. Ποσειδώνος) from the intersection with Alimos Street (Λ. Αλίμου) to Vergoti Square (Πλατείας Βεργωτή) in both traffic flows;
- Ευρυάλης street;
- Θήτα street, from the intersection with Poseidonos Ave. to the intersection with Elliniku street;
- Ιώτα street;
- Ελληνικού street, from the intersection with Θήτα to the intersection with Ιώτα.
Stopping and parking of vehicles is prohibited from 21.00 Wednesday 12/13/2023 to 13.00 Thursday 12/14/2023 on the streets:
- Ευρυάλης,
- Θήτα, from the intersection with Poseidonos Ave. to the intersection with Elliniku Street,
- Ιώτα,
- Ελληνικού, from Θήτα street to Ιώτα street.
The Traffic Authority asks drivers, for their convenience and to avoid additional traffic problems, to choose alternative routes along Vouliagmeni Street and/or other municipal roads of the municipalities of Glyfada and Ellinikon-Argyroupoli, to follow the signs and gestures of the traffic controllers.
