An earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale struck between the islands of Santorini and Amorgos in the central Aegean on Friday morning.
The earthquake that shook both islands occurred at 10:49 local time. According to preliminary information from the Athens Institute of Geodynamics, the epicenter of the earthquake was located 23 km south/southwest of Arkesini on the island of Amorgos. The depth of its focus was 17.1 km.
There have been no reports of casualties or property damage yet. Tremors were also felt in the wider area of the Aegean.
