"Rough diamond": one of the most hidden settlements in Greece

In order to feel the virgin beauties of the place, you must first ask the local inhabitants, and then gradually explore everything that you managed to learn about this unexplored corner of Greece.

And then, perhaps, you will be able to feel at least for a while that you are a part of the place where you are, immerse yourself in real life, completely forget about the busy everyday life in the metropolis. So, we are going to a truly unknown settlement in the mountains of Agrafa.

Starting from Agrafa (Evrytania), starting to get acquainted with the hidden beauties of the surroundings, we head to the Church of Ag. Paraskevi, just 4 kilometers from the village on a dirt road. From here you can watch Agraf from afar, as well as admire the green canyon that runs right under your feet.

The view is truly breathtaking, but it’s not worth staying there for anything… The road continues, descending another kilometer to, perhaps, the most hidden settlement of Agrafa, a real paradise for the few… The village has a special name – Khodeyka, inextricably linked with a famous family Hondos*.

**Famous dynasty, founders of a network of cosmetics stores, as well as clothing and footwear, accessories and other fashion-related products. Family members own separate companies, including Answer SAE Hondos CenterPiraeus Hondos Center, Nifrestel Hondos Center, Step-Hondos Center and Hondos Center Hondos Brothers Cosmetics.

The road comes to the river that flows to Agrafiotis, connecting with it with its waters, and few houses of the settlement are served by only two local residents.

The tranquility of this place is indescribable and you will feel it from the first moment you arrive here. The herd of cows that graze there for most of the month is extremely friendly, allowing the visitor to walk among them and fully enjoy the direct contact with “wildlife”.

The landscape is fabulous, despite some desolation. The river flows in front of the houses, whispering softly about something of its own. And at the entrance to the village there is a small surprise waterfall. Following the path at the exit from the village, in the opposite direction along the river, you will have a view of the Khodeyki gorge. It looks amazing, lost among the greenery of nature and flowing waters. Here you can experience the feeling of real merging with nature.

A journey to Agrafa reveals another, hidden side of life, which is a real “rough diamond”.
