Wine consumption in 2021/2022 increased by 65.32% compared to the average for the previous 5 years, taking into account the negative impact of the coronavirus pandemic, and by 28.16% compared to the average for the previous 10 years.
According to an analysis of data from the National Agricultural Cooperative of Winemakers (KEOSOE), in the specified period (2021-2022), wine consumption amounted to 2,803 thousand liters.
It was noted that wine consumption in 2021/2022 increased by 39.94% compared to the previous period 2020/2021 (2,003 thousand liters), the second year of the coronavirus pandemic.
In addition, per capita wine consumption in Greece is estimated at 26.70 liters per person, according to KEOSOE, slightly above the average wine consumption in Greece. EU (23 liters per person).
