On Saturday evening, July 23, in the area of Thebes, a man was seriously injured when he was “dragged” by a train ΟΣΕ.
According to the message LamiaReporttrain 887, which departed shortly after 20:00 from Lianoklady to Athens, at the height of Thebes hit a Roma citizen walking near the railway tracks.
For unknown reasons, the 45-year-old gypsy was near the railway line. A train on the rails hit. As a result, the unfortunate man’s leg was cut off.
An EKAB ambulance was immediately called to the scene and transported the victim to the Thebes General Hospital and from there to the Red Cross Hospital (Ερυθρός Σταυρός) in Athens, as his condition was extremely serious.
The police of Thebes are conducting a preliminary investigation into the incident, while the train continued its journey to the Athens station with a delay of half an hour.
