Life Saver: schoolchildren created a platform for tourists with first aid information

Tourists who come to our country in thousands in the summer have taken care to collect information in advance about the sights they will visit, as well as the places where they will dine. Thanks to the high school students of Patmos, they will now be able to obtain other information, with the hope that it will remain … unclaimed.

As part of their participation in Junior Achievement Greece, the guys created a platform – a complete guide with information about first aid if necessary. So from their mobile phone or tablet, tourists will be able to find everything related to health issues: from the nearest hospital to the place where defibrillators are installed, writes iefimerida.gr.

“Life Saver” solves a very important problem in the field of tourism, namely safety and health of millions of people, who visit our country every year,” notes Argyro Yamaiou, teacher of the department, who coordinated the work of a group of schoolchildren at every stage: from the birth of an idea to its implementation.

“Our team has created an application that will provide useful information to tourists in order to make it easier, if necessary, to provide them with first aid during their stay in our country. The app provides information about hospitals, doctors, pharmacies, and other useful instructions, depending on the area in which the tourist is located,” Ms. Yamayou explains.

As soon as the tourists are in Greece, their mobile phones will be informed that they have the opportunity to download “Life Saver”. The application, in addition to being innovative and useful, is easy to use and simple. It is aimed at a large number of tourists, with all information in Greek and English, and soon there will be a digital health card in other languages.

The reason for the birth of such an idea was the daily life of teenagers, as they live in an area where there is no hospital. Thus, the need for constant access to healthcare structures was identified, and the guys, under the guidance of a competent teacher, were able to compile an electronic platform with a map of our country, starting with the Dodecanese.

It is reported that the students’ plans for their business are big, as they intend to cooperate with major airlines and tourism enterprises.
