A Russian Su-35 fighter jet crashed into the sea near the port of Sevastopol in Crimea, Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev said, but the cause of the crash has not yet been announced.
According to some sources, the cause was a mechanical failure, according to others – a friendly anti-aircraft system, and several people in X are already joking (since this is not a fatal accident) that, “in the end, only Russian anti-aircraft guns can shoot down a Russian Su-35 fighter”!
The pilot left the plane in time before the crash, using the ejection system. He was picked up by rescuers and is safe.

The plane crash was confirmed by the Russian-appointed governor of Sevastopol, Razvozhaev. “I see that Ukrainian public pages publish a lot of different information. No civilian objects were damaged. The pilot ejected. He was picked up by the Sevastopol rescue service at a distance of two hundred meters from the shore. His life is not in danger,” wrote official in his Telegram channel.
It is unclear what caused the crash. The Russian Ministry of Defense and the Ukrainian Armed Forces did not give official comments on the incident.
