Alexandros Despotopoulos: "Greece won't have problems, don't worry"

Giorgos Kalliakmanis, President of the N/A Attica Police Union, and Alexandros Despotopoulos, an internationalist, commented on the terrorist attack in the Russian Federation and the threat of ISIS.

Mr. Despotopoulos noted regarding the general European concern after the terrorist attack in the Moscow region:

“I believe that Greece will not have problems, it is quite reasonable to worry in Europe.”

“We have had measures since the start of the war in Ukraine. We have also strengthened measures at the airport,” said Giorgos Kalliakmanis, who agrees with him. Alexandros Despotopoulos says:

“Everything agrees that the attack was carried out by ISIS. Putin wants to do two things. Firstly, he sees this as a good opportunity to prepare an attack on Ukraine. There are rumors in Moscow that there will be a second conscription. Secondly, he does not want to open a second front. I don’t think he will want to open a second front, he will avoid it. ISIS has attacked Russia several times because it was involved in the fight against the Islamic State.”

ISIS attack in Moscow has caused great concern in European capitals, some of which have already begun to take action. About fears of a new terrorist attack Despotopoulos said:

“I believe that Greece has no problems. In Europe they have reason to worry as they have had incidents in the past. What worries them is the Lone Wolves and not so much ISIS, because they operate outside of ISIS, autonomously, but as a result they cannot be detected by the secret services. Security measures at the Olympic Games will be strengthened.”
