Do you have a sedentary job? be careful

The results of a recent study have convincingly proven that excessive sitting (11 hours or more) increases the risk of early death by 57%.

The study was conducted by scientists from the University of California (USA), it published in the scientific journal Journal of the American Heart Association, and tells Science Alert about him.

5,856 women aged 63 to 99 years old took part in the scientists’ work. During the experiment, they had to wear an activity monitor for seven days, which recorded the time they sat and moved. The researchers then followed the participants for ten years and linked their activity data to their risk of death.

During these 10 years, 1,733 women died. The researchers found that participants who sat for more than 11 hours a day had a 57% higher risk of early death than those who sat for less than 9.5 hours a day.

At the same time, scientists do not yet have a common opinion on how sitting for several hours can affect health. They recommend that people who have sedentary jobs stand up and walk around periodically between work assignments or during phone calls.
