A. Georgiadis about the suicide of a 72-year-old cancer patient: "If he had asked me, I would have brought him the medicine!"

Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis made the incredible claim about a 72-year-old cancer patient in Heraklion who committed suicide due to unbearable pain and a two-month wait for treatment drugs to arrive, saying: “If he had told us, we would have done it for him.”

After yesterday’s unacceptable statements in which he blamed a cancer patient, claiming that he did not show up for his prescribed treatment, the minister continued them in a conversation with Ant1 today.

He claimed that if cancer patient turned to him, he would have found a cure, raising a legitimate question: “So only if someone gets access to the minister and can talk to him, only then will the state offer him what it should have already offered.”?

“The drug was indeed in short supply, but thanks to my intervention, it was able to be delivered to Greece. Thanks to the emergency import of the importer, who brought 60,000 vials about 20 days ago, – said the minister. – Cancer patients know that I myself was involved in this and delivered the drug very quickly so that it would not remain in short supply.”

Then he added: “If this person had turned to us, we would have immediately found a cure for him, in the end he found it a few days ago. Today the cure is in stock!”
