The colony administration approved the parole of Russian actor Mikhail Efremov

Actor Mikhail Efremov, who is serving a sentence due to a fatal road accident, will be able to be released on parole if the decision of the administration of the colony in the Belgorod region, where he is serving his sentence, is supported by the court.

About it reports TASS agency, citing the chairman of the Moscow Public Monitoring Commission Georgy Volkov. The date of the trial, which is expected to make a final decision, is still unknown. Volkov says:

“I think that Mikhail Olegovich has already repented several times and reconsidered his views on life. If the court decides that it is not yet timely to release the actor on parole, then you can always file a petition to mitigate the sentence of forced labor and move to a correctional center. And there you can continue to improve, working as a virtually free person.”

On June 8, 2020, Mikhail Efremov was involved in an accident in Moscow – the car he was driving crashed into a van. The driver of the van died in hospital from his injuries. The examination determined that the actor was intoxicated at the time of the accident.

In September 2020, the court sentenced Efremov to eight years in prison. Later, this term was reduced to seven and a half years, given that the actor compensated for moral damage to the relatives of the deceased. The case caused a huge public outcry. Mikhail Efremov admitted his guilt and repented.
