Alain Delon’s Arsenal

More than 70 weapons and thousands of cartridges were seized by gendarmes from the home of 88-year-old Alain Delon; he illegally stored weapons of three categories at his Brulerie estate in the Loire.

According to the newspaper Le Parisien, citing the Montargis district prosecutor, law enforcement officers began a preliminary investigation under articles on illegal storage, acquisition and possession of weapons:

  • Category A – military weapons and grenades prohibited for civilian possession;
  • Category B – weapons requiring a permit (pistols and shotguns);
  • Category C – samples requiring declaration (including traumatic pistols and weapons for sport shooting).

In addition, police discovered collectible guns and a shooting range at the French actor’s estate, which he acquired in 1971. According to initial reports, he did not have permission to own a firearm.

An investigation into the actor was opened due to concerns about his health. The doctor who examined Delon concluded that he had “a state of physical and psychological exhaustion with a high suicidal risk.” The doctor assessed the actor’s moral state as low. His caregiver’s lawyer, Hiromi Rollin, said:

“My client is very concerned that Alain Delon is being held without medical care and weapons are kept near him.”

In January, the court restricted the actor by appointing him a representative. As a result, the movie star will not be able to independently manage the property. In March 2022, Delon decided to undergo euthanasia, but apparently changed his mind about dying voluntarily.
