Winter is working wonders this year: after the cold weather, warm, almost spring-like weather is expected in the coming days. From Monday and throughout most of the week in Greece it will be more than 20°C, and in some places even higher and without snow, despite meteorologists’ forecasts.

The weather conditions are exactly the opposite of what meteorologists said February would be a very cold month. And this despite the fact that the weather has already improved since today. As it turns out, forecasts beyond seven days are dire and can only scare people.

We already told you that the cyclone “Αυγή” “Dawn” had to be urgently renamed “Black Midnight”, in honor of the excessive suspiciousness of some meteorologists.

But why is this, and why today, in the midst of sunny weather, are citizens experiencing a “war” of meteorologists arguing about who was or was not included in the forecasts?

Firstly, because there is a huge quarrel among meteorologists over who will scare the population the most and talk about the worst weather, purely for PR reasons.

This leads to the second reason, which is that such self-promotion may even lead someone to parliamentary seats, but in any case to receiving large salaries from the channels that most often pay for this “horror”.

And third, they miss their forecasts because they simply don’t have the means (as they showed yesterday) to make accurate forecasts for multiple days.

“Let people know about the great shortage of ground stations and weather radars,” was the justification of meteorologists.

PS Let’s not rush to rejoice in the spring warmth, because the weather forecast for a period of more than 1 day is akin to shamanism. It is quite possible that instead of +20°C there will be the usual and dull 5-10°C…
