Alina Genovesu, a well-known fraudster in Greece and Ukraine, was sentenced to 3 years.

Fraud trial Alina Genovesu ended on January 16, 2023, after more than 5 years of proceedings. Swindler sentenced to 3 years (suspended), and her husband, who took part in the fraudulent schemes, received 18 months.

The trial of Alina Genoveso took place in a difficult situation. Over 5 years, at least 10 court hearings took place, several were postponed for various reasons. Dozens of witnesses and more than 20 victims were interviewed, while the court verdict lasted almost 8 hours!

Lawyer Nikos Kapelis and his assistants led this complex case for 5 years, they made a lot of efforts to bring it to the end. The criminal couple was not sent to prison, but they were informed that if she or he was found to be involved in illegal activities during the suspended sentence, they would be sent to prison for the full term. Due to the fact that in 2018 the spouses already served 3 months in prison, this period was counted toward their total sentence.

In addition to the deadline, the family of Alina Genovuzu, aka Galina Ruzhitskaya or Galina Belaya, will have all their property described, which will then be sold through an auction, and the money will be returned to the victims.

Comments from victims (preserving vocabulary and expressions):

Fragments from the six-hour trial of swindlers Genovezoy Halyna (Alina) and her other half.

So the trial began, we were called in turn to tell how we screwed up, the lawyers and judges asked questions.

The beginning was in normal tones, the swearing to oneself sounded loud. It’s my turn, because I don’t trust our lawyer, I didn’t say that I would provide translations of 10 applications from people from Ukraine. I take the pack in my arms and approach the judges. I gave them the opportunity to ask me questions, and when I finished, I gave them a packet with a description of the victims from Ukraine, and what the scammer was doing on the Internet. No one except us knew about such a surprise. The judges froze for a while, Galina’s lawyer jumped up and, trying to get closer to me, almost tore down a two-meter table with eyes three times larger than his glasses. I extend my hand in his direction and tell him: “Stop. Now I’m talking.”

The judges stopped him. The swindler also jumped up and ran up to him. It was clear from her how all her blood rolled into one prickly ball and pummeled her from head to toe. Our lawyer could not get up. I continued to tell, show and explain without stopping. The judges realized that our lawyer was not aware either. “It’s hot and boiling.”

Our lawyer came up to me and started looking at it too. For the judges it was a mountain of material. We let our lawyer look at it. Her lawyer could not stand it, he ran up to ours, wanting to look, but the judges returned him to his place.

I continued to speak, proving and shutting up her lawyer, like a sickle to the balls. He snorted, naturally, that it was all fake, and such people did not exist. The judges somehow didn’t really want to accept these documents, and then I showed them photocopies of the email from the Greek cyber police, and they had no choice not to accept it. In short, her lawyer forgot what questions he wanted to ask me, this pack stupefied him.
She spent almost the entire court sitting next to our lawyer, helping him and stuffing papers into her lawyer’s face.

Suddenly my other lawyer calls me, but I’m glued to it and can’t get out. One of our girls was on the street and told that lawyer that I was in such and such a room, and then he came in as if he were coming into his home. He is big, very large, and with his jacket and backpack open he looks even bigger. He finds me with his eyes and shows that he wants to talk to me in the corridor. I nodded and slowly, rustling my pants, I began to climb out of the 2-meter table and move towards the exit. And he, on the other hand, walked around the entire hall, looking everyone in the face and calmly walked towards the exit. Everyone quieted down a little, following him with their eyes. One of the judges wanted to ask him what he wanted, but changed his mind.

After talking with the lawyer in the corridor, she returned to the hall. Everyone except me had the question: “What was that?” I won’t tell you.

In general, the trial was held on nerves of steel and with surprises. Her lawyer at one point said that almost the entire group is Russian, and that’s why we hate her. Svetka immediately closed his mouth, pointing at us that we were Ukrainians. Then he said that she and her son were helping the army, and that her son was fighting. And here I used all the cords of my voice in the highest tones: “Her son is at home, not at war…” – the judges were silent… The swindler almost broke her neck, looking at me.

Galina did not have a single piece of evidence that she and her husband did not act intentionally!!! This was such an interesting trial.”

“Of course, the trial was like in a movie – only tickets had to be sold for this performance, so they would have recouped their losses. But it was cool to look at the silent stage – the auditor arrived!!! And then at the jackals driven into a cage”.

***

“The scammers’ lawyer is even dumber and more deceitful than the family of scammers. Well done girls! Bravo!”

***

“It’s a pity that there were no spectators in this theater that day.”

Concerning persons affected by the actions of Galina (Alina) outside Greece, they need to write complaints to the cyber police of your country. When the required (it is not known exactly how much) number of complaints has been collected, the police in your country will contact Greece to transfer the case to Greek jurisdiction. It is advisable that this happens within 2.5 years, then she automatically goes to prison.

The translated complaints of some people agitated the judges, but according to the law, the Ukrainian authorities must turn to the Greek ones, otherwise all these statements have no legal force. So if you have suffered from the actions of this scammer, do not delay, but act in the order indicated above.
