An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale occurred today in Turkey. Seismic tremors were felt on the Greek island of Symi and Rhodes.
The epicenter of the earthquake, according to the Euro-Mediterranean Institute, was 146 kilometers south of Aydin and 22 kilometers south/southeast of Datsa. The depth of the source is estimated at 20 kilometers, writes newsbeast.gr.
We previously told you that Greek seismologists, having assessed the history of seismic activity in Greece, they said that an earthquake of magnitude 8.5 on the Richter scale will soon await it. This is much more than the catastrophic earthquake in Turkey in 2023, which killed tens of thousands of residents of this country.
