Crete "shaking" – two earthquakes this morning


Two earthquakes, just over two hours apart, measuring 4 and 4.2 on the Richter scale, occurred this morning in Crete.

The epicenter of the tremors at 05:07 am on April 29 was in the sea zone of the island, 50 kilometers north of Heraklion, according to data from the Institute of Geodynamics. The depth of the source was 15.2 km.

The second earthquake, measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale, occurred off the coast of Crete at 07:24. According to the Geodynamic Institute of the National Observatory of Athens, its epicenter is located 51 kilometers north of Heraklion, and the depth of the source is estimated at 14 kilometers.
