The tragic ending to the story of the search for a 41-year-old pregnant woman who disappeared on January 1, 2024. Her body was found in the forest in Chalkidiki.
ΕΛΑΣ reports that two men aged 39 and 34 have been identified as the perpetrators of the murder of a woman in Thessaloniki. During the police investigation, it turned out that on New Year’s Eve, in the apartment of the victim’s partner, located in the Kalamaria district, men attacked her with a sharp object, having previously immobilized her. They then transported her body by car to a remote forest area. It also turned out that a certain amount of money was taken from the woman. The message from ΕΛΑΣ states, quotes CNN Greece:
“After a thorough and methodical investigation carried out by the police of the Thessaloniki Security Directorate, the Kalamaria Security Directorate and the Crimes against Life and Personal Liberty Section of the Thessaloniki Security Directorate and with the assistance of the Sub-Directorate of Criminal Investigations of Northern Greece, the murder of a 41-year-old woman in the Kalamaria area has been solved.
Two citizens aged 39 (the woman’s partner) and 34 years old were identified as criminals and were taken to the department for combating crimes against life and personal freedom. A case has been filed against them for premeditated murder, abortion, robbery and illegal carrying/use of weapons.
As it turned out during the police investigation, on 01/01/2024, in the apartment of a woman’s partner located in the Kalamaria region, these persons attacked her with a sharp object, having previously immobilized her, and then transported the body by car to a remote forest area where it was discovered yesterday, 01/08/2024, in the afternoon, by police officers from the department for combating crimes against life and personal liberty, and the Kalamaria security department. In addition, it was established that they took a sum of money from the woman. The relevant materials of the case will be transferred to the competent prosecutor’s office.”
A friend of the pregnant woman’s partner allegedly indicated the place where the body of the unfortunate woman, who disappeared in Chalkidiki, was located and was subsequently found.
Giorgia Murati disappeared at noon on New Year’s Day in the Kalamaria area of Thessaloniki. Her mother reported her disappearance on January 2 at the Kalamaria police station. The missing woman was the mother of a 13-year-old daughter and was three months pregnant. The Anti-Life Crimes Unit of the Thessaloniki Security Service participated in the investigation to establish her identity.
