A family of six was left homeless in Varie after a tornado tore through the area Friday night (12/15/2023).
It caused problems in many homes in the area, but the home of a family of six was completely destroyed. Footage from the scene shows that part of the ceramic roof hung on a high-voltage power line. Luckily no one was hurt. The family was reportedly transported to safety.
“A tornado, ανεμοστρόβιλος or officially called αεροδίνη, is a small-scale meteorological phenomenon of short duration. As a result of the devastating effects of the weather disaster in the Vari region, a family of six people was left homeless. Fortunately, no one was injured and the people were taken to safety,” Sotiris Kakleas, commander of the 8th fire station, wrote on Facebook.
