Shooting in Paleo Faliro: wounded 60-year-old man died in hospital


Yesterday evening, November 30, at 21:00, shots were heard on Atlantos Street in Paleo Faliro. According to police, a known criminal has been killed.

A 60-year-old Albanian man, wounded in the chest, was taken to Evangelismos Hospital in serious condition. Despite the efforts of the medical staff, writes newsbeast.gr, it was not possible to save him.

The house is located in a residential area, opposite a children’s playground. According to reports, four shots were heard. The police immediately arrived at the scene of the incident, cordoned off the area and began an investigation. They conduct an inspection of the crime scene, interview witnesses, and study recordings from surveillance cameras. Two 9mm casings were found and sent to the forensic laboratory.

The man, believed to be Albanian, received two gunshot wounds. After shooting him, the criminals fled. Law enforcement officials reported that the deceased was a known criminal, a member of a criminal organization. The cause of his death was most likely settling scores.

A preliminary investigation into the case was carried out by the subdepartment for criminal cases of crimes against life and property (Δίωξης Εγκλημάτων κατά Ζωής και Ιδιοκτησίας).
