The words of the uncle of a 39-year-old man killed in a bull attack on Mykonos are shocking: “The injury was penetrating”

Details of the tragic death of a 39-year-old man in Mykonos in the early hours of Sunday (26/11) on the island’s bypass road are shocking.

It all started with a man riding his motorcycle, returning home, when a herd of cows appeared in front of him. While trying to drive away the animals and clear the way, he was attacked by an angry bull, which hit him in the stomach with its horn, causing instant death.

“He was visiting and was returning home at night. These cows, as well as many other animals that leave the fields due to the lack of a fence, wander in the middle of the road. Probably the one in charge of the animals left the gate open… it’s not even a gate, just the name, and the animals came out onto the road and killed the guy, tearing him into pieces,” said the uncle of the deceased.

“The wound was straight through. They didn’t let my brother and sister-in-law see him… It must have been a shocking sight.” Is this a sign that you have ten animals on the bypass road? No fence? There are two more churches on this site. Probably lost souls,” he said.

The description of the cousin is also shocking. According to him, the animal hit the man, impaled him on the horn, and then dragged him along. “A huge tragedy. If you looked down the roadway, there was a river of blood.”

Three years ago, the owner of five cows and a businessman were accused, in particular, of grazing livestock and sometimes letting animals run free without supervision.

“In November, November 9, 2020, I noticed 5 cows of this businessman, which were on an unkempt piece of land on the main road of Mykonos, namely on the road that goes from the village to Ano Mera, and precisely for this reason, because there was a large the likelihood that an accident will occur, the animals will be harmed and an accident will occur, I have filed a complaint against the owner of these animals at the Mykonos police station,” – said lawyer Stelios Garipis.

“This man is a large contractor and I cannot understand why he keeps his animals in this place. He has thousands of properties on the island, he could have envisaged placing them elsewhere.” – he noted.
