The 29-year-old Air Force sergeant, who was found dead yesterday, Monday, in her apartment in Larissa, committed suicide.
According to the website onlarissa.gr, the girl committed suicide in the bathroom of her house by wrapping a cord around her neck. An autopsy will be conducted on Tuesday and an investigation will begin into what led the young woman to take her life.
The Hellenic Air Force soldier did not report for duty on Monday morning and did not answer repeated calls to her mobile phone. Those responsible were immediately mobilized and arrived at her apartment in the 110th Fighter Wing quarter and attempted to open the door because they were concerned that she was not showing signs of life.
They eventually found her unconscious and, in addition to the police, an ambulance arrived at the scene to take the girl to the hospital. There, doctors pronounced her dead.
Authorities are investigating all versions, including imitation suicide.
