According to a list published by the Washington Post, Sifnos is among the top 10 seaside or island getaways around the world that will make the traveling public’s fall “brighter and juicier.”
According to a popular American newspaper, Sifnos, which “represents” Greece in the 8th position of the ranking, is the ideal choice for exciting outdoor recreation, unforgettable culinary delights and unparalleled natural beauty. The list is completed by Fuzeta in Portugal, Santa Lucia in the Caribbean, Hawaii, the Barrier Islands in South Carolina, Seychelles, Tahiti, Bali, Aruba and the Sunny Isles beach area in Florida.
It is noted that following a planned journalistic mission from the municipality, Low Season Traveler recently spoke about the possibilities of Sifnos for “special trips” out of season. The Mayor of Sifnos, Maria Nadali, noted that “September this year ended with a record number of arrivals, which justifies the efforts of professionals, local organizations and the municipality of Sifnos to extend the tourist season. Our initiatives to organize important cultural events, such as the Cycladic gastronomic festival “Nikos Tselemendes”, as well as to promote thematic forms of tourism that are offered even after the high season, are moving in this direction.”
