P.I. Tchaikovsky’s ballet “Swan Lake” is one of the most popular and beloved works of classical ballet, which was first staged in 1877 in Moscow. The plot of the ballet is based on the folk tale about the beautiful princess Odette, who was turned into a swan by the evil sorcerer Rothbart, and about Prince Siegfried, who fell in love with her and swore to be faithful to her. However, Rothbart deceived the prince by replacing Odette with his daughter Odile, who pretended to be a swan.
