Italian homeless man can’t claim his big lottery win

In Italy, luck finally smiled on a homeless man – he won 37 thousand euros in the lottery. But there was a problem with getting money.

A man from Senigalia, who has been using the same combination of numbers on lottery tickets for a long time, cannot collect his long-awaited winnings due to the lack of a health insurance card.

How reported October 26, Italian edition of Corriere Adriatico, the lucky winner is called Gianluigi, he used the same seven numbers in each Superenalotto lottery draw. And finally he was lucky – having paid 1.5 euros for a ticket at a bookmaker’s office in Senigal, he could have received 37,045 euros. But… they refused to give him the money the homeless man needed so much (after taxes it was 30,000 euros). The publication notes:

“It turned out to be quite difficult to receive the winnings. The reason is the bureaucracy associated with issuing the winnings. As it turned out, any identification document is not enough for this – you need a social security card.”

But the man does not lose heart – one of the charitable organizations, as the newspaper writes, volunteered to help the homeless man. Its representatives promise to provide copies of the necessary documents that the man left with them for a long time.
