Israel has suspended repatriation from Russia

Although there is no official ban on repatriation from Russia, only those who have previously passed consular checks and received a repatriation visa will be able to move to Israel for permanent residence in the near future.

How writes DW, the repatriation department of the Israeli embassy in Moscow has suspended the reception of Russian citizens until October 27, TASS reported this on October 24, citing the Israeli diplomatic mission. Earlier, the chief rabbi of Moscow, Adolf Shaevich, said that the embassy was suspending the procedure for the repatriation of Russians in connection with the war with Hamas:

“Currently, the consulate does not accept applications, does not accept people, and has stopped accepting applications for permanent residence for some time. Apparently, all bureaucratic structures there have reduced their activities due to many circumstances. Many have gone to fight after being drafted.”

A similar version in an interview with The Moscow Times was put forward by lawyer Alexey Kovalenko: consular checks at Israeli embassies in all countries of the former USSR were suspended due to the fact that embassy security officers, as reservists, were brought into service. He noted that repatriation is not officially prohibited, but in the near future only those who have previously passed consular checks and received a visa will be able to move to Israel. Another possible option: enter Israel on a tourist visa and go through the entire procedure on the spot.
