The US has put 3,000 Marines on alert in the Arabian Sea, fearing "worst situations"

The US took a step showing its readiness for “worst-case situations.” They sent two aircraft carriers to the shores of Israel and alerted 3,000 Marines from the 26th Expeditionary Force, interrupting ongoing exercises in Kuwait.

The Bataan amphibious task force, consisting of USS Bataan (LHD-5), USS Carter Hall (LSD-50), and approximately 3,000 Marines from the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is now off the coast of Bahrain and heading to the Arabian Sea after how it was forced to end the exercises in Kuwait early in order to “prepare for further tasks in connection with emerging events.”

US Marines are currently in the Arabian Sea with orders to be ready to go directly to the Suez Canal if necessary. The USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, along with its battle group and the USS Gerald R. Ford, is expected to arrive in Israel within days. At the same time, the Americans are transferring the 101st Airborne Division to Jordan.

Americans fear not only for the Israelis, but also for their own units in Syria, where they are surrounded by hostile forces. One US official told Politico that the government in Tehran may view instability in the Middle East “as an opportunity” to attack US troops. “The unrest in Israel gives Iran this opportunity,” – stated the American official, without giving his name.

The United States has deployed about 900 troops in Syria to maintain American control over the Syrian oil fields in Deir Ezzor. The Pentagon is concerned about the possibility of new attacks attacks on American troops in the Middle East by Iran, and they are alarmed by the fact that six days after the Hamas attack, the Israeli army was unable to give a “decisive response.”

Of particular concern are the clashes on the Lebanese border with the very well trained and equipped Shiite pro-Iranian group Hezbollah.
