The Israeli Air Force is preparing for intensive bombing of Beit Lahiya, an area located in the northern Gaza Strip, a few kilometers from the border with Israel.
The planes are dropping leaflets calling on residents to “immediately” evacuate their homes and head to “known shelters,” Al Jazeera reported. “Anyone who comes close to Hamas terrorists or their facilities will put their lives in danger. A house used by terrorist organizations will be bombed,” the reports said in Arabic. It added that submission to the Israeli army “will keep you out of danger.”

Residents of Beit Lahiya in the northern Gaza Strip say the area had already come under attack before the leaflets were dropped. The bombing carried out by Israeli warplanes on Thursday 12:10 pm killed at least 151 Palestinians, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported. According to the same reports, Israeli bombing continued for several hours, with dozens of rockets and bombs hitting buildings and homes throughout the area.

This is the Rimal neighborhood of Gaza City after one of the worst nights of Israeli bombing in survivors’ memory. More than 200 targets were hit here overnight in response to a brutal Hamas attack that killed hundreds of people in Israel over the weekend. A total blockade of the Gaza Strip was also introduced, with electricity and gas supplies cut off. The United Nations said this was a violation of international humanitarian law and human rights. More than two million people live in the blocked area.
Earlier, Israeli Energy Minister Israel Katz made it clear that electricity and water would not be supplied to Gaza until the people abducted by Hamas returned to their homes. “Humanitarian aid to Gaza? Not a single electrical switch will be turned on, not a single water pump will be turned on and not a single tanker will enter until the kidnapped Israelis return home.” – he wrote on the X website (formerly Twitter).
According to Al Jazeera, shelters in the Gaza Strip are not protected from airstrikes.
