Ship "Pavel Derzhavin" received damage near Sevastopol

On October 11, near Sevastopol, the Russian Black Sea Fleet ship Pavel Derzhavin was damaged.

About it reported Captain 3rd Rank Dmitry Pletenchuk, press secretary of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Radio Liberty:

“You are the first to whom I officially confirm today that he was damaged. I cannot provide you with any information about the circumstances of this incident, let’s call it that, but it is a fact.”

He clarified that “Pavel Derzhavin” is a ship of the Russian fleet, although previously a ship with the same name had a Ukrainian fleet:

“They have the same name. As far as I remember, there was such an interesting moment even before the war. I can only note that this is not a Ukrainian ship.”

Earlier, Telegram channels and some media reported that the patrol ship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet “Pavel Derzhavin” was blown up on the outer roadstead of Sevastopol – at about 10 o’clock in the morning the sound of an explosion was heard. It was suggested that the patrol ship “Pavel Derzhavin” of project 22160 type “Vasily Bykov” could have been blown up by a mine, since a minesweeper was spotted in the sea near Sevastopol during the day. The Russian Ministry of Defense did not comment on this data.

The patrol ship “Pavel Derzhavin” was laid down in 2016 at the Zelenodolsk Shipyard named after. Gorky (serial number 163). Then construction continued in Kerch. Launched in February 2019, writes edition “Dumskaya”. In 2020, it was accepted into the Russian Black Sea Fleet. In Russia there are only four such corvettes on the water – “Vasily Bykov”, “Dmitry Rogachev”, “Pavel Derzhavin” and “Sergey Kotov”.
