Fall asleep in 2 minutes: "military method"suitable for everyone

Sleep is a mysterious thing. Some people fall asleep easily and quickly. Others find it difficult and suffer through long nights. But there is a way to fall asleep immediately. How? And there is one… military trick.

Constant exposure to flickering screens, stress and the daily rhythm prevent us from getting as much sleep as we need. Nevertheless, you still need to get enough sleep, which is what doctors persistently recommend.

So what’s the solution? This is a military method developed specifically for cases when there is no comfort of time and space for proper sleep. It was first used by fighter pilots. It is known that poor sleep dramatically reduces reflexes, and this is the worst thing that can happen to a fighter pilot. And if this method works in air combat, then it can definitely be tried and implemented in your bed.

The main idea of this technique is to calm your body and move every part of it, from your head to your toes. Starting from the head, it is necessary to relax each organ sequentially. Relax your eyes, jaw and cheeks. Focus on your breathing.

It’s time to move on to the neck and shoulders. Lying on your back, make sure that your shoulders are not tense and your arms are relaxed (and positioned slightly lower in relation to your body).

Just as relaxed, let your hands touch the mattress with your palms, spread your fingers as wide as possible. While you do this, keep in mind the thought of a “pleasant warmth” that begins to spread from your head and ends at your toes.

Take a deep breath and exhale slowly, relax your chest and stomach, and allow this feeling to travel down your legs. Feel a wave of “heat”, this time rolling from your heart to your toes. As you perform these simple movements, be sure to “clear” your mind of stressful thoughts.

If you find it difficult to turn off the “mental stirrer”, you can create a calm scenario in your mind. For example, imagine being in a boat on a calm lake and seeing nothing but the blue sky above, or swinging in a soft hammock. You can imagine anything as long as it calms you down (serves as a relaxation scenario).

If at some point your attention again begins to be distracted by unnecessary stressful thoughts, repeat the phrase “don’t think, don’t think” for 10 seconds. If you don’t succeed on the first night, don’t be discouraged and wait a little. Everything comes with experience (and practice).

According to military psychologists and psychiatrists, this method can help almost everyone and achieve ideal sleep in just 6 weeks. This is true even in cases of very severe PTSD and insomnia: 96% of those who try it fall asleep within 2 minutes of this procedure.
