Meteorologists from the Athens Observatory have published temperature data for August 2023 in Greece. According to them, the temperature this month was within the normal range.
The following graph shows the ranking of August by year depending on the average monthly maximum temperature:
For Thessaly, it was the 4th warmest August since 2010.
For Northern Greece and Crete it was the 5th warmest month in the last 14 years, while for Central Greece and the Peloponnese it was the 7th warmest.
In Athens, the deviation of the average monthly maximum temperature was -0.1°C, with 18 out of 31 days of the month being warmer than the norm for this season.
In Thessaloniki, 17 days of the month were warmer than the average for the 2010-2019 season, and the average maximum temperature for the month was 0.1ºC above normal.
Rethymno had the most days with a positive temperature deviation (26), followed by Agios Nikolaos (24 days).
