Russia: home filling – your own dentist

Russians are increasingly trying to save money on visits to the doctor. But when the savings relate to visits to the dentist or beautician, the consequences are the most unpredictable.

As tells Russian edition “Lenta.ru”, recently home filling has become popular, as well as the independent use of fillers (injectable dermal fillers), for example, for lip augmentation.

On the Internet, you can freely buy filling material. In Russian marketplaces, so-called temporary fillings are actively sold, for the independent manufacture of false and false teeth. The goal, it seems, is good – a temporary solution with the help of home-made “patches” of simple problems, if there is no doctor nearby, or there is simply no time to go to the dentist.

Standard kit for home “repair” of teeth: 200 small beads made of biocompatible dental plastic. Sellers claim that they are enough for 80 fillings or 7-12 teeth.

To make a filling or a homemade crown, it is enough to throw a few “beads” from the set into a glass of boiling water and wait until they become transparent and soft. Then pull it out of the water, fashion a suitable overlay from the resulting mass and attach it to the problem tooth. After the filling is adjusted in shape and size, it remains to rinse your mouth with cold water so that the plastic freezes and turns white. If not everything worked out perfectly the first time, you can easily remove the filling or crown by prying it with your fingernail and try to do everything more carefully.

What do users think about it?

The novelty bribed the Russians with a pleasant cheapness: the cost of a set is 230-700 rubles, and the treatment of caries by a dentist requires from 1.5 to 4 thousand rubles per tooth (depending on complexity). Those who want to save money are not stopped by the numerous warnings of doctors. Judging by the reviews, many users are satisfied with the result of the “treatment”:

“I didn’t believe in success. It turned out the first time. An interesting process. The sensation in the mouth is unusual. It is glued quickly so that the seal hardens and changes color, you have to wait a bit and rinse with cold water” (review of a customer on the OZON marketplace).

But, as usual, there are those who are dissatisfied with the quality and fragility of homemade fillings:

Beauty requires sacrifice

Even Russians do not like to go to beauticians – too expensive. Recently, those who want to eliminate appearance defects have been buying fillers on marketplaces, which they inject on their own and … remain with disfigured faces. And on the Internet, acid is sold, which costs mere pennies, but guarantees, according to sellers, delicate and smooth skin without a single wrinkle. If you are not lucky, the procedure may end with necrosis, chemical burns and scars on the face, but this does not stop buyers of gray products, as the publication found out.
