Despite the great efforts of the ground and air firefighting forces, the fire that has been raging since yesterday in the Fili region has crossed into the territory of the Parnita National Park.
As the press secretary of the fire brigade, deputy head of the fire department Ioannis Artopios, told MEGA TV channel, the fire is moving along the gorge already on the territory of the Parnita National Park towards the casino.
Concerns about the uncontrollable size of the fire that engulfed Parnita and burned everything in its path were confirmed. Shortly after 2 pm on Wednesday (08/23/23), the raging flames spread to the national park, despite the titanic struggle of the fire brigades to prevent such a dramatic development of events. However, gusty winds interfere with the firefighting, and the fire front is currently approaching the cable car leading to the casino.
There is no end to the fiery nightmare in Parnit, where out of control fire “consumes” entire settlements, houses and real estate!
The first shots of houses burned to the ground are disheartening, but the fiery hell continues, the struggle of firefighters and volunteers with the flames is heavy and continuous.
