Residents of Alexandroupolis evacuated due to fire

The authorities of Alexandroupoli announced the evacuation of 2 districts of the city due to heavy smoke, which comes from the fire that has been ongoing for the 5th day in the Dadia forest. After the wind direction changed in some areas of the city, it became impossible to breathe.

The message about the evacuation was received by the residents of the Melia and Koyla districts. According to the Mega TV channel, perhaps the same fate will befall the Kirki area.

The Copernicus system that was activated for Evros shows the extent of the catastrophe. The US Maksar satellite, which specializes in Earth observations, also recorded them.

A huge cloud of smoke hung over Alexandroupoli as other images show a continuous battle between firefighters and aircraft trying to bring the blaze under control.
