Citizens of the Russian Federation easily enter the EU, regardless of restrictions

There is a border crossing in the north of Norway, through which Russian citizens get into the Schengen zone without any problems, just as easily as before the war in Ukraine.

This is Borisoglebsk-Storskog, tells www.err.ee. The border checkpoint is the only one on the 198-kilometer border between Russia and Norway where this is possible: Borisoglebsk is in Russia, and Storskog is in Norway. Entry rules, according to Helsingin Sanomat, have not changed after the Russian attack on Ukraine.

Russian citizens can cross the border on a visa issued by any Schengen country. The Borisoglebsk-Storskog checkpoint is open every day for crossing the border from 9:00 to 16:00.

According to the police in the Norwegian region of Finnmark, in June 2023, 5603 border crossings were recorded at this border point, which is 41% more than in June 2022. Between January and June 2023, 38,971 border crossings were registered, up 131% from the same period a year earlier.
