In Pakistan, 10 carriages of a passenger train derailed. The number of dead and injured is growing.
The tragedy occurred in the southeast of the country in the province of Sindh, near the city of Nawabshah, 275 km from Karachi. At least 30 people died, the military and rescue teams are working at the crash site, writes Air Force. Train traffic has been stopped, medical facilities are operating under a state of emergency.
The reasons for the crash are unknown. Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Minister of Civil Aviation and Railways of Pakistan, cited “deliberate” action and “mechanical failure” as possible causes of the tragedy.
