In the United States, there will be more than one billionaire – in the American Powerball lottery, a jackpot of $ 1.08 billion has been hit.
How writes BB.LV, the official announcement was made on the lottery website on Thursday, July 20:
“One ticket sold in California <…> won a $1.08 billion jackpot.”
This is the third-largest win in the history of Powerball and the sixth largest ever won in any American lottery. Now the happy owner of the “failed” luck solves a difficult dilemma: either to immediately receive 558.1 million US dollars, or to stretch the “pleasure” for 30 payouts, but to receive the winnings in full.
The previous big jackpot was in November, when the California Lottery announced a record-breaking $2 billion Powerball lottery ticket sold in the state of California.
The Powerball lottery takes place in 45 US states, in the metropolitan District of Columbia, in Puerto Rico and in the Virgin Islands.
