Fire in the forest on Mount Athos

Today at seven o’clock in the morning a fire broke out on Mount Athos, a forest is burning in the monastery of the Great Lavra.

The fire covered a large area, but so far did not threaten the monastery of the Great Lavra. 43 firefighters, 11 pieces of equipment, 3 groups of foot firefighters, 2 helicopters and 2 aircraft were involved in extinguishing the fire, writes CNN Greece.
