US mercenaries: fighting in Ukraine is worse than in Iraq and Afghanistan

American mercenaries who fought on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine say that the fighting in Ukraine turned out to be worse than in Afghanistan and Iraq.

How tells Daily Beast, the Americans were shocked by the difficult situation at the front and violent clashes with the enemy army. One of them, called Bam, says:

“The worst day in Afghanistan and Iraq is a quiet day in Ukraine.”

Before the start of a full-scale war in Ukraine, David Bramlett found himself in Washington, DC, and discussed whether Russia could invade Ukraine. He was in the process of earning a master’s degree in international relations from Johns Hopkins University. At the time, he says, the prospect of a Russian invasion seemed unlikely to him.

But when Russia finally invaded Ukraine last February, David, who previously worked for the US military as a green beret on a counter-Russian mission and as an Army Ranger in Iraq and Afghanistan, felt compelled to go fight the Russians. In an interview with The Daily Beast from Kyiv, he said:

“In my mind, there is both good and evil. I sent an email to my parents saying that… this is the most righteous war I think my generation will see in our lives. This is a confrontation between good and evil. That’s why I went. I thought I couldn’t put up with this shit.”
